The morning began with a presentation by CITB advisor for East London David Wake who gave the group a run through of the ‘Go Construct’ website . We then heard from some of the subcontractors at Royal Albert and one of the young apprentices on site who spoke about his personal journey into construction. Two employees who came to the project via Newham Workplace, then spoke about their route to employment and their experience of working at Royal Albert .

The group finished the morning with a visit to the viewing platform to see the work going on onsite.

Strategic manager for Education and Skills Sheila Weeden  said of the event ;

" We would like to thank Multiplex Ltd for hosting the visit, and CITB for the insight into the construction industry. It is vital that Career  Co-ordinators who advise young people have up to date knowledge about industry and career paths into industries for young people. It was also fascinating to visit the site and see the construction of such an exciting development. We are very grateful to Multiplex for the opportunity and for their commitment to providing visits to groups from local schools".
