Vicarage Primary School Visit Site
In October 2017, 30 children from The Vicarage an East Ham Primary School, came along to spend the morning at the Royal Albert Dock to learn about the different roles in the construction industry.
On their arrival the children split into two groups, one group went up to the viewing platform and drew plans of the site and the surrounding area, the children loved the viewing platform and the highlight for them was watching the planes take off from London City Airport right opposite the thriving construction site of Royal Albert Dock!
The other group stayed in the meeting room and interviewed the staff volunteers, from both CITIC and Multiplex. The children had to guess the different occupations from the group of adult volunteers, through a series of interview questions, and after overcoming their initial shyness the youngsters showed just how good they were at this!
Nina Staebler who works for the Educational Charity 15billion-ebp said of the visit:
“Thank you SO much for hosting, it was fabulous!!”
More visits are lined up for local primary schoolchildren to the Royal Albert Dock throughout 2018.
